Samsung Galaxy A17: Renders Leak Ahead of Launch
Just hours after confirming the certification of the Samsung Galaxy A17, new official-looking renders of the phone have surfaced, bringing it back into the spotlight.
All images reveal the device in a dark gray / black colorway, with the last one hinting at an alternative shade.
The model in question is the 5G version, although it’s not yet confirmed if a 4G version, like last year’s model, will also be released.
Specifications
The source behind these renders confirms the inclusion of the Exynos 1380 chipset, which was previously spotted in benchmark results. We can also expect a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, triple rear camera with a 50 MP main sensor, 5 MP ultrawide, and 2 MP macro, and a 5,000 mAh battery supporting 25W wired charging.
Another leak mentioned that the main camera will feature OIS (optical image stabilization), a first in this price range for Samsung. From the images, we can see a noticeable chin and a waterdrop notch, giving the A17 a slightly retro appearance.
Compared to the Galaxy A16
The key upgrades in the A17 over the A16 are the chipset and OIS support. Other elements, including the dimensions, are expected to remain unchanged.
In the US, the Galaxy A17 will be sold via T-Mobile, with possible availability on other carriers. Since the Galaxy A16 became Samsung’s best-selling phone recently, expectations for the A17 are high. It’s expected to launch officially in October.
